Kate Norris
About Me
Kate Norris is a professional musician and vocal tutor from Bristol.
Originally from Birmingham, Kate is classically trained and has studied grades in classical singing, music theory, clarinet and saxophone. After starting out in opera and musical theatre, Kate crossed over into alternative and popular music and has been performing in bands ever since. Over the years, she has been part of many musical projects and has performed at such events as the National Rock and Pop Festival, the Royal Cornwall Show and the Quinphonic Festival. Kate has also featured on several tracks as a session vocalist as well as recording for past and current musical projects.
Previous bands include Cornwall-based folk duo “Kvist”, function band “Franssen Effect” and Bristol melodic metal band; “Control The Storm” who released their debut album “Beast Inside” in March 2015. Kate currently fronts psychedelic rock band “Neuromatic” and Bristol-based function band; "HoneyFunk."
Having taught vocals and performance since 2008, Kate has worked at such institutions as The Academy of Music and Sound, The Basement Studio, dBs Music and Access Creative College. Kate's specialisms include Vocal Technique, Music Performance, Songwriting and Special Education Needs (SEN). Kate currently teaches vocals at Bristol Rock Centre, and provides pastoral support at BIMM Bristol.
